A note on the name: Robert Falcon Scott and the men on the failed Terra Nova expedition died horribly on the Antarctic ice shelf due to a fatal and darkly hilarious combination of pride, poor planning, and–regardless of their worldliness and extensive exploration experience–utter ignorance of the world around them. In true British fashion, they were for a long time valorized for their brutal, pointless deaths. We hope to learn from their example.
